New York Sea Grant's "Seafood Technology" site features a variety of the program's education efforts and research projects.

- "Seafood HACCP Training" includes the latest information on
specialist Ken Gall's HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
education programs. HACCP is the state-of-the art approach to food
safety control that has been applied to the production of seafood and
other food products.
- “Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)” includes information
about a new Internet training program for food processors, wholesalers
and warehouses on the basic practices needed to produce safe and
wholesome food products.
- “Listeria Control” describes research and outreach activities
designed to help producers of ready-to-eat seafood products control the
foodborne pathogen, Listeria monocytogenes. This includes
collaborative work with Dr. Martin Weidmann of Cornell’s Department of
Food Science, industry partners, and state and federal regulatory
agencies.

- “Seafood Savvy” is a publication that was written with
consumers in mind to help them better understand seafood products and
how to use them safely and confidently.
- ‘Handling Your Catch: A Guide to Saltwater Anglers”
offers the basics of good fish handling practices, which, along with a
little planning and creativity, should help readers to get much more
enjoyment from fishing expeditions- and a great deal more satisfaction
from the fish they bring to the table.
“Related Sites” provides a description and links to other
sources of information including the New York Seafood Council's (NYSC)
Web site. The NYSC site includes information on New York's seafood
industry, nutrition and health, and preparation. The NYSC has packed
its site with backgrounds of New York's seafood, hard clam and lobster
industries (all written by NYSG's Ken Gall), a seafood image library,
profiles of seafood products in the marketplace, and recipes for all
seasons. Other seafood-themed Web sites can also be found in the
