New York Sea Grant (NYSG) is pleased to announce its Biennial Research Call for 2014-2015.

The main goal of New York Sea Grant's research program is to provide valid scientific information that will serve as the basis for furthering the sustainable development, use, protection, conservation, and management of our coastal resources.  The research must clearly be driven by identified needs and must provide enhanced opportunities for NYSG to ‘make a difference’ and have an impact on addressing important coastal issues.

  • Coastal habitats and ecosystems
  • Sustainable fisheries and aquaculture
  • Seafood products and businesses
  • Coastal businesses
  • Land use planning and watersheds
  • Coastal water quality
  • Coastal hazards
For the specific issues being targeted within these topics, and for complete instructions on how to apply and what to submit, see the Call document (pdf) in the Related Links box on the upper right of this page.

Research in many disciplines, including biology, chemistry, geology, physical oceanography, engineering, social science and others, will be appropriate.
